Meet the SKYLIGHT team. Here you will find a description of our individual roles, together with details on our professional backgrounds.

Timothy Phillips, Founder and Managing Director
He is a specialist in the areas of international management and business communication, as well as personnel development measures in the areas of foreign languages, intercultural skills and blended learning. His career prior to SKYLIGHT:
- Manager of Phillips Learning GmbH, specialised in designing and implementing blended learning concepts in companies. In 2004, Phillips Learning was integrated into SKYLIGHT GmbH.
- From 1998 to 2000: Senior Consultant at Deloitte Consulting, in the area of Education and Training Services
- From 2000 onwards: worked as Key Account Director for Pixelpark AG and managed e-business projects for a number of clients, including WestLB, Deutsche Bank and Bertelsmann.
Together with his colleague Martin Sunderland, Tim developed the CATS Corporate English eLearning programme, based on the predecessor of the Common Eureopean Framework (CEF).

Timo Sartoris, Project Management
Timo Sartoris is responsible for project management at SKYLIGHT GmbH and is a specialist in the design, development and implementation of IT systems.
Timo has a degree in Media Studies and Marketing Management. He has been involved with SKYLIGHT since its formation in 2004 and is now responsible for the development and support of the BOLAS system and for the development and implementation of new IT products.
Timo has built up substantial experience in the area of media communication consultancy.

Andrea Deiß, Training Manager
Andrea Deiß works as a training manager at SKYLIGHT GmbH. She is specialised in advising companies in the area of international business communication and project management.
At SKYLIGHT, she develops training concepts and can-do statements for language trainings for customers and advises them on site. She co-ordinates training outsourcing activities and recruits trainers on behalf of customers. As a product manager for the SKYLIGHT train-the-trainer course CLTC-C (Communication and Language Training – Corporate), she is responsible for the entire organisation and contents.
From 1999 to 2005, she worked first as a project assistant, then later as a project manager at the head-office of Wal-Mart Germany. She played a major part in setting up and introducing a time-recording system in all the Wal-Mart stores in Germany, as well as optimising processes. Before that, she was a team assistant and co-ordinator for the Indian subsidiary of SAP Labs Mannheim. In 1996, she was awarded a B.A. (Hons) in Business Administration from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle, England.

Beate Motz, Team Assistant
Beate Motz was trained as an office clerk and has over 20 years experience in accounting, office management and secretarial tasks. She is specialised in assisting executives and has proved her sales skills.
She was often responsible for the bookkeeping, ravel expenses and personnel administration. Furthermore, she worked in Customer Care and organised trade fair presences and other events.
She began her career as an office clerk in the company where she completed her training, Tengelmann WHG. Since then, Beate Motz worked as an HR clerk at Nokia Data and as a Sales Support Assistant at EASY Software AG. In her last position, she worked as an office clerk at arCaptis, a provider of digital document systems.

Dr. Ben Zimmermann, PR
Ben Zimmermann is responsible for Public Relations at SKYLIGHT GmbH. He is a specialist in the area of internal and external corporate communications and has been working for SKYLIGHT since 2005.
In addition, he is working as a freelancer for various agencies and obtained his PdH in German Language and Literature at the University of Cologne in September 2011. From 2002 to 2007, he studied German Language and Literature, History and Sociology there.

Nicolas Kittner, Marketing
Nicolas Kittner works for SKYLIGHT GmbH as a freelance consultant in the areas of marketing and online communication.
He is a specialist in the area of strategic marketing, dialogue-based communication and digital media.
After completing his degree in media and communication skills, Nick worked as an account manager for the advertising agency Nordpol+ in Hamburg. Nick has been working as a consultant for SKYLIGHT since 2006. He has been involved in strengthening the SKYLIGHT brand by employing a variety of communication channels, and is responsible for the SKYLIGHT website.

Olga Annenko, Trainee at SKYLIGHT
She had her first experience of living abroad in 2005 when she went to the USA for four months to work for Southwestern Company as a door-to-door salesperson. After she finished her MA in Linguistics at the Pjatigorsk linguistic University in Russia, she came to Germany as an Au-Pair to enhance her knowledge of German.
Later, she decided to enrol at Cologne University of Applied Sciences for a B.A. course in Multilingual Communication. She is now studying English, Spanish and intercultural communication there.

Nicola Schloeder, Freelance Consultant
Nicola Schloeder is a freelance consultant at SKYLIGHT and co-author of the DICE study which SKYLIGHT conducts annually. She is a specialist in designing and organising in-company language training.
She completed her Masters degree in Romance Languages and Pedagogy in 2006. Currently she is undertaking a PhD in the area of language teaching research.
Previously, she was responsible for organising the CLTC-C courses which she participated in herself in 2006. She has also worked as a freelance trainer for German as a foreign language since 2001.
